PE & Sports Premium

What is PE and Sports Premium Funding?

The Primary PE and Sport Premium was introduced in March 2013 to improve the provision of physical education and school sport in primary schools across England. The government have announced that this funding will continue for the academic year 2020-2021.The £320 million funding is provided jointly by the Departments for Education, Health, and Culture, Media and Sport.

The PE and Sport Premium is designed to help children get an active start in life, supporting primary schools to improve the quality of their PE and sport provision so that pupils experience the benefits of regular exercise – from becoming healthier both mentally and physically, to improving behaviour and better academic achievement.
