Healthy Schools

Hi again Year 4,

Last week we had healthy eating week and this week it has been Sports Week. I would like you to reply to this blog and tell me what activities you enjoyed the most and why.  

Why do you think we have things like healthy eating week and Sports Week at school?

Tell me the kinds of things you do to keep fit and healthy.

I think we have healthy eating week and sports week because we want to keep fit and healthy so we can live a healthy life with strong bones.Also to keep a healthy diet.The things we do to keep healthy is excersise and protect are body and also keep clean.Drink lots of water and stay hidrated.

We have healthy eating week and sports week to help children understand why we need to be fit and healthy. To be fit and healthy you can eat healthy meals and do loads oy exercise .we both do gymnastics and swim as well as eating loads of fruit and vegetables.

I enjoyed drinking the smoothies because our smoothie was the best although some people didn't enjoy theirs.I hated my smoothie because it had the smell of banana and I hate banana.I think we have things like healthy eating week and sports week because we are a healthy school.The things I do to keep fit and healthy are exercising for 1hour a day and eating fruit and vegetables daily!

We enjoyed going to northern lawn tennis club to learn more tennis abilities. We enjoyed this trip because we got to watch a Match afterwards.We have healthy schools week so we can learn how to eat healthily for future reference.We have sports week so we keep fit everyday of every week.We enjoy doing these fun activities. We enjoyed making smoothies even though they weren't the best but it was still fun.
This we have been practising multi sports for sports day,Casey most enjoyed the races.Josh enjoyed skipping the most.We have sports week and healthy eating week because we need exercise and fruit and veg to keep fit . To keep fit me and casey eat the right foods everyday and do an hour of exercise a day.

In healthy eating week we made some delicious fruity smoothies and most of the people in our class loved there creations!
This week is sports week and so far 4H has done cricket ,boxercise and so many exciting event !!

On Tuesday 20th we met a man called Alex,he taught us how to play basket ball.
We learn about healthy eating,so we could be fit when we grow up.
On sports week we made our own game based on sports.

Hi Year 4 - thank you for all your comments. It sounds like the smoothies were a hit. I like smoothies - too and I agree you can 'hide' things like lettuce. I put spinach in my smoothies along with berries and bananas and although it turns my smoothie a bit green it tastes great. I can hardly taste the spinach but at least I know I'm being healthy. I am impressed by your knowledge of how to keep healthy by eating healthy food, staying hydrated and doing a lot of sport and activities. I'm sure your teachers will all be pleased to know how much you've learned because learning at school is not just about what goes into your mind but what you put into your body as well. Well done - stay healthy!
